COIN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ships individually in protective packaging
  • Consisting of 0.4838 oz of 900 Fine Gold
  • Obverse and reverse may vary slightly depending on the year of the release but maintain a very similar design

The reverse image is a majestic heraldic eagle with its wings outstretched, holding a shoot and spears, with a shield bearing the American stripes at its breast. Also on the reverse, the U.S. legend and a decorative border, with a banner that reads, ‘In God We Trust’, above the eagles head.

The obverse feature is also known as the coronet head, being Christian Gobrecht’s version of Lady Liberty, with her ‘Liberty’ headband and the 13 stars encircling her. This obverse feature is encapsulated in a light, decorative border and is joined only by the coin’s random year of issue.

This coin saw many updates to the obverse over the years, with the most drastic and final change coming in 1908, when the Liberty bust was replaced by the image of a proud Native American chieftain.
