We are an authorized distributor for Perth Mint. Gold Corporation and its subsidiaries, trading as The Perth Mint, were founded as the area's branch of Britain's Royal Mint in 1899. At the time, gold sovereigns and half sovereigns were the British Empire's circulating coins. Rather than shipping gold mined in Australia to London and then back to colonies as coins, the Royal Mint built branch mints throughout the Empire, including Perth. When sovereigns were discontinued in 1931, the mint began producing collectible and other coins. It remained British owned until 1970, when it was taken over by the government of Western Australia. The Perth Mint's recent releases include 9999 pure gold and silver coins as well as 9995 pure platinum coins in varying finishes and sizes. They also mint bars and precious metal blanks for other mints.
