Cumberland Gap National Park celebrates an historic route through the Appalachian mountains that was used by many settlers as a gateway to a new life in the western frontiers of America. The Gap was used by hundreds of thousands of early settlers leaving America's original colonial settlements in search of a new life out West.
The obverse of the coin features the John Flanagan effigy of George Washington, as it has appeared on US quarters since 1932.
The reverse features an early settler holding a rifle, while gazing through the Cumberland Gap. You can almost sense his trepidation mixed with excitement at the start of a journey to a new life.
The America the Beautiful series will eventually comprise 56 unique coins by the time the series is complete in 2021. These US Mint coins are a perfect way build your wealth in ounces by investing in a government minted product with a relatively low premium.
In multiples of 10 these coins ship in a tube. In multiples of 100 they ship in a US Mint monster box.
