The S.S. Beaver was a cutting edge steam and sail hybrid vessel built in England for the Hudson's Bay Company. The Beaver initially served as a supply ship, before eventually being used to chart the coastline of B.C. She ended her career by being run aground in Vancouver Harbour in 1888.
