Perth Mint's fourth 1oz silver tribute to lead actors in the James Bond franchise celebrates Pierce Brosnan.
Watching Goldfinger as an 11-year-old, Pierce Brosnan never imagined he’d become the fifth actor to play James Bond on the big screen. When the opportunity arose, however, his breathtaking debut saw 007 jump off the Verzasca Dam during the opening scenes of 1995’s GoldenEye. Combining glamour, charm and brutality, Brosnan’s Bond was also sensitive as he successfully transitioned the agent out of the Cold War era and into the 21st century.
The coin portrays a black and white image of the much-admired actor in a classic Bond pose. The design includes the franchise’s iconic 007 gun barrel logo with inscriptions of Pierce Brosnan’s four 007 movies, including GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.
This coin portrays the official Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign – ‘1952 – 2022’.
Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the coin is presented in a 007 branded case within a themed shipper.
The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint's 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970. Under an agreement with the Commonwealth Treasury, they were empowered to mint and market gold, silver, and platinum as Australian legal tender to investors and collectors worldwide. Today, they are amongst the elite world mints whose pure gold, silver, and platinum items are trusted without question. Items such as the Australian Nugget, Silver Coin Series (Kangaroo, Kookaburra, Koala, and Platypus to name a few), as well as the Australian Lunar Gold and Silver Coin Series are extensively sought after by bullion investors worldwide.
