The distinguished Royal Mint continues their hugely popular Queen’s beasts series with this platinum rendition of the Black Bull of Clarence. As one of 10 heraldic beasts that presided over Elizabeth II’s 1953 coronation, the Bull of Clarence once served as a sculpture on Westminster Abbey, and has now been artfully engraved and cast in platinum.
The reverse feature, which changes with every edition, displays the Black Bull of Clarence, remastered in dazzling fashion by talented designer, Jody Clark; the Bull bears the royal arms as borne by Edward IV, his brother Richard III, as well as the houses of Tudor and Lancaster.
The obverse illustrates the detailed effigy of Elizabeth II, dramatically set on a hypnotic, textured field, also courtesy of Jody Clark. The portrait is en-framed by the Queen’s formal title, as well as the coin’s unique face value.
