This coin celebrates the snowy owl, one of Canada's most iconic birds.
The snowy owl embodies Canada's north, is a very important part of the ecosystem and is protected from hunting across Canada. The reverse features an open field after the first snowfall, rendered in full colour. The owl is looking at us while perched on a dead log, it's head turned back past 90 degrees. This close-up view allows a magnificent view of this majestic creature’s remarkable features, from its rounded head and black bill to the down-covered legs and toes.
This coin makes a wonderful gift for nature lovers, and will be prized by collectors of wildlife-themed coins.
This coin is encapsulated and held in an RCM branded clam shell within a full colour box.
