The Chinese belief of Five Blessings is often depicted as five bats, as the word for "bat" sounds like the word for "good fortune", "happiness" or "blessings".
This coin shows five bats representing the five blessings of longevity, wealth, health with composure, virtue and a natural death in old age. The engraved curves of the bats along with vines and flowers surround the character for prosperity, a charming pun as the prosperity character is pronounced the same as the character for bat. The peach flowers and peonies symbolize longevity, immortality, royalty, virtue, wealth and honour in their own right.
Limited mintage of 10000 plus a numbered Certificate of Authenticity add to the appeal of this beautiful coin.
Your coin comes in a grey presentation case with a gold and red box bearing a version of the reverse design
