Specifications

The 1 oz silver coin immortalizes the S.E.5a Aircraft with selective colour in the foreground evoking details like the protective wear of the pilot in the open cockpit and the Lewis and the Vickers machine guns onboard.

The First World War accelerated the technology of flight due to a life or death need to control the sky. The S.E.5a leapt aviation forward with its speed and stability. It handled high altitude well, dove quickly and could manage slow airspeeds forcing opponents into range.

The mintage of this first of three in the series will be limited to 7500. Family histories and personal histories were changed by The Great War that is quickly slipping out of living memory. Owning this collectible is keeping a connection to the profound changes it wrought.
