Specifications

The oil paintings of Canadian artist Tom Thomson transformed the perception of Canada's northern landscape both at home and abroad. Thomson had a great influence on what would later become the Group of Seven, although he passed away before the group was formed.

This coin features an expert recreation of Spring Ice (1916), which is on display in the National Gallery of Canada. You can almost feel the chill in the air as the last bits of ice melt away. Further distinguishing this coin is the gilding along the rim and on the effigy of the Queen on the obverse.

Genuine paintings by Tom Thomson sell for millions of dollars. This limited mintage coin is a great way to celebrate Canada's outdoors for a much lower price!

This coin ships in a full colour graphic box, with the coin in a coin capsule held in an RCM branded clam shell box.
