The raven is central to First Nation traditions, and this coin celebrates its role in teaching the story of the northern lights.
This coin is the third Royal Canadian Mint offering to feature a hologram, which is microscopically struck into the coin's surface.
Canadian artist Nathalie Bertin has designed a stylized raven soaring above a mountain landscape. The three dimensional raven is actually a hologram, which is a "virtual” image that is actually produced on your retina. In fact, the physical image on the hologram's surface is a seemingly random series of dots.
Limited mintage of 8500 will ensure future demand for this beautiful collectible.
This coin ships in a coin capsule held in an RCM branded clam shell.
