This proof quality coin is part of the Royal Canadian Mint's 2014 five-part series featuring four "day in the life scenes" of the iconic Bald Eagle. Collect the entire series to complete the story of a day in the life of the Bald Eagle as it rests, soars, hunts and returns to its perch with the day's catch. The series captures the essence of the Bald Eagle in four scenes depicting it's most important and iconic daily tasks.
The obverse features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the words "Elizabeth II D.G. Regina"
The reverse design by Canadian artist Claudio D'Angelo captures the Bald Eagle as it glides care-free through the sky. The ease with which it glides and the great height as evidenced by the trees and water below give the eagle a perspective that few ever achieve. It is likely that the eagle is looking for a good spot to fish as it glides effortlessly on the wind. The intricate details, both engraved on the coin and captured in the enamel bring this beautiful coin to life. The picture is completed with the words "2014 Canada 20 Dollars" and the artist's initials.
Made from 9999 pure silver. This coin not only makes a great addition to any wildlife or silver collection, but is part of a very popular series. With a limited mintage of only 8,500 they won't last long.
This proof quality, coloured silver coin comes encapsulated in a maroon clamshell case with a serialized certificate.
