The image of a pristine powdered mountainside backed by densely snow-packed evergreens against a clear sky and snow covered background light a warm glow in the hearts of skiers all over the world. For over a century enjoying the thrill of downhill skiing has been not only a pastime or holiday for many, but a fond memory of excitement followed by relaxing in front of a roaring fire for millions.
The obverse of the coin features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the words "Elizabeth II D.G. Regina".
The reverse features a design by Canadian artist Kendra Dixon that depicts a skier enjoying a run down the mountain. Every year in Canada tens of thousands of skiers can't wait to experience the snow and beautiful winter terrain that Canada has to offer. The image centres around a skier, as seen from behind from the top of the slope, enjoying a run down the pristine snow covered slopes surrounded by snow laden evergreens and an immaculate snow covered landscape. This design is encircled by the words 'Canada 25 Dollars", the artist's initials and a stylized pair of ski poles opposite the year, 2014.
This proof finished silver coin is made from one ounces of 9999 pure silver. This coin is limited to a worldwide mintage of only 8,500 and makes a great gift for anyone who enjoys downhill skiing or collects beautifully engraved silver coins.
This coin comes encapsulated and encased in a maroon clamshell case with a serialized certificate of authenticity.
